    - The Linney Family, a book by James Erle Linney
James Erle Linney did a massive amount of research to complete this book, which is now out of print. This book includes a genealogy of the Linney family starting with William Coplin Linney from Manchester, England. He, according to James Erle Linney's research, was the first Linney to settle in America, and the progenitor of all American Linneys. This volume also contains many wills, biographies and other items. It truly is a treasury of information for any American Linney, and there is even some information about Linneys in England. The author visited Manchester, England and other locations in England to conduct research. This is the original and only edition complete with photos, page numbers, index, and even the author's signature. James Erle Linney, the author and copyright holder, is no longer living. If you are a Linney (or are related to one), it may be fun for you to check and see if your name is listed in the book. Then you can trace all or part of your family tree. If you find the book confusing, or do not understand the numbering system used to catalog descendants, read the article listed below entitled, Understanding James Erle Linney's book "The Linney Family."
